Has anyone ever got denied an ETA (electronic visa) for Australia

Posted on October 9, 2015 | in Travellers Questions | by

I am travelling from the US to Australia, and my ETA application was denied. I have filled out a 600 series and they have not gotten back to me yet. Ive called a lawyer and they dont see any criminal files or warrants for my name. The flight is in a week, im freaking out. Anyone have any background with this?

What happens if my application is not approved?

In a small number of cases, an ETA will be denied for such reasons as past criminal convictions or an applicant’s name turning up on a government watch list. In this case, you should apply through the nearest Australian visa office. The fee for our services will still apply to recover the costs of the non-refundable government fee and processing efforts.
