The right time to travel

Posted on March 4, 2016 | in Travellers Questions | by

Ill try to sum up my situation briefly. Im 21 yo and live in Australia. Ive just completed an apprenticeship with a mining company (great pay). In 2013 I bought a house in my home town. I now live in my house, my parents and sister live with me too. Spent the last couple years paying heaps off the loan. With the downturn of the mining industry they are not rehiring me, so Ive got no job at the moment. They will pay me out my leave which is about 20k before tax. I am about 7k off of paying the amount I guaranteed Id pay 70k (parent were guarantors). So I am way ahead of repayments.

I really want to travel again and perhaps get a working visa to work and travel for a while. Im asking for your opinion or input or if anyone has been in a similar situation. Should I travel and rent my house to my family? Or is this not a good idea?
Is this the right or wrong time to travel?
Am I crazy?
Sorry for the wall of text, hopefully this is the right sub. Thanks! 🙂
