Visa a little confusing, takes too long to get a direct answer about when I’m due to leave Australia

The visa is just a tourist visa but I managed to get one for a year. However, Im enjoying my time here and my time is running short. I got approved on April, 16th of last year. It says:
Travel Document Expiry-28 October 2024
Must not arrive after- 16 April 2016
Stay Period- 12 month(s) from the date of each arrival
I got to Australia on 07 May 2015. So if my visa is good for a year, does that mean Im able to stay until May, or April 16th? It might be a dumb question but its my first time traveling and Im a little anxious.
