The company I worked for in the UK has gone into liquidation and I have been made redundant – Which couldnt have come at a better time, so no tears have been shed.

I have got myself a working holiday visa, and I now, ideally I want to get a job before I go out there (if possible). I understand this may sound stupid, but as I am 26 and had 5 years working in a technical profession I thought that my chances of doing the above maybe higher than someone who is on a gap year or just fancied a year abroad.

Ive signed up on the Hays recruitment website, which is currently being "processed", so in the mean time I thought I would check to see if Im wasting my time going down that route, or if I am on the right track. Ideally I would like to live in either Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

I am obviously open to packing up my things, booking a hostel and getting on a flight then applying for jobs once I am there, but I think the security of finding a job first would suit me better.

If there are any options, agencies, or more appropriate sub reddits that you lot could recommend, it would be greatly appreciated.
